GBK Recruiting 2012: Unfinished Business

The Army coaching staff can take a deep breath, even a sigh of relief as National Signing Day has come and gone .... or can they or has it?

Well, yes and no. NSD is in the books for the Black Knights and all the other programs across the nation, but the uniqueness of recruiting at Army is that NSD is more symbolic since there is no actual binding Letter of Intent.

As such, there is one more official visit weekend, that allows Ellerson and his staff to put the final touch on Army's 2012 Recruiting Class.

As we stated in a previous article, our projections suggest that 18-20 prospect will be coming in Direct. This number does not include the 32 players that we anticipate arriving from the USMAPS.

Then you have another 40 (approximate) prospects who will be making their way to the USMAPS for 2012.

The staff is hoping that some of the aforementioned totals of those coming in direct or to the prep school, will include some of the 17 recruits who will be on campus this weekend for what will be the final official visit weekend for 2012.

Hence, there could be "late" additions to the new class of Black Knights. It should be noted that included in the upcoming official visitors this weekend, eight (8) are already solidly committed to the Army Black Knights.

1. Cale Brewer, K
2. Chasen Brown, DB
3. Ralph Freibert, K
4. Joseph Giovannelli, Safety
5. Aaron Kemper, FB
6. Andrew King, RB
7. Joel Ragazzo, DE
8. Joe Walker, Athlete

The remaining nine visiting prospects who are still undecided ... well, we will keep under raps until they make their final decision. But from where we sit things look very promising to say the least.
