'Heart and soul' of Dunbar defense ready for college ranks

Of all the stars and headliners on Dunbar's state-championship team, perhaps no one was more valuable to the Poets than the man who operated beneath the limelight. Charles Brown didn't rack up sacks like ends Lavar Highsmith and [db]Marvin Gross[/db]; he didn't pick off passes like [db]Terrence Williams[/db] and Aaron Haynes; and he didn't single-handedly rip apart defenses like [db]Deontay McManus[/db] and [db]William Crest[/db].
