Bulldogs first practice in the books
Mississippi State's first football practice is in the books.
The Bulldogs went back to work Thursday afternoon hoping to build off back-to-back bowl victories under fourth year head coach Dan Mullen.
"It was great to be back out on the field," Mullen said. "It's been such a long time since we've been out there. It's what I love to do and I know our coaches and players love to do so it was great to be back on the field and get going."
Much of Thursday's agenda was installation and seeing how much of the playbook was retained from the spring.
"There's a lot of learning I want to get accomplished," Mullen said. "In day one in helmets it's getting repetitions for guys and getting them comfortable. It's hard to evaluate guys until they are fully comfortable with what we expect them to do. It's going to be a lot of teaching over the next two weeks."
While much of the offseason focus has been on the Bulldogs desire to throw the football more on offense, Mullen did not add any new wrinkles to the playbook.
