Okoye carrying on Catholic Central D-Line tradition
Michigan fans are very familiar with Detroit Catholic Central High School and its tradition of producing talented defensive linemen. Mark Messner had a standout career in Ann Arbor in the mid-80s, Mike Martin carried the torch from 2008-11, and the Wolverines signed Matt Godin in the 2012 class. Even 2013 signee Wyatt Shallman - though he's coming to Ann Arbor as an offensive player - is a standout lineman for the in-state powerhouse.
That tradition doesn't look to slow down any time soon, and 2014 defensive tackle Chris Okoye could be next to carry the torch. The 6-6, 305-pounder impressed at the Midwest Elite Big Man Camp in Wixom, Mich. earlier this month.
