Randle taking on a different role this spring

No player ever wants to be held out with an injury, but for senior defensive tackle Thad Randle he welcomes the new role he's taken on this spring.

The Houston native had reconstructive surgery on his right MCL and PCL, along with some work done on his meniscus over the off-season.

It was a surgery that Randle basically knew he was going to have to have within the first few weeks of the season after he injured his surgically repaired knee from the 2011 season early on in fall camp. Each week during the season it was a battle for Randle to get himself ready to play. Some weeks Randle gave the Huskers quality snaps and others he left the field in serious pain.
