The 6-foot-8, 300-pounder currently holds over a dozen offers ranging from the east coast to the west coast, and each program is coming at him with a purpose.UGA is one team that has made Blair a high priority early in the process, and it is his prospective position coach that has taken the lead in his recruitment.
"Coach (Will) Friend came to practice. He came this past Friday," Blair said. "He has been recruiting hard and we have been talking a lot. He has just been keeping in touch with me and keeping that contact. He has been keeping it simple and as real as he can with me. He has been telling me that if I come in, I can help the program."
Blair was also impressed with the fact that Friend decided to pay him a visit so soon after the evaluation period started on April 15.
"It tells me that Georgia is serious about recruiting me; that coach Friend is serious about wanting me there," Blair said when asked to share his thoughts on UGA visiting him in the first week of the evaluation period. "I liked it a lot."
Growing up in Anniston, Alabama, Blair admits that he grew up following the SEC.
The star JUCO still holds the conference and its schools in high regard, but says that he doesn't necessarily prefer the SEC over other conferences.
"I mean, it doesn't matter what conference I play in," he said. "I like the SEC, but I'm really just trying to find a home."
Blair says that he will be finished at Garden City in December and will enroll at the school of his choice in January.
That, however, is the only timeline that exists in his recruitment at this time as he says that he has no plans to narrow his list of schools or make an announcement as of yet.
"I don't have a timeline or anything," he said. "I just plan on taking visits and figuring it out as a I go or whatever. I haven't planned too much."
