Hogg in Demand

Some 2015 prospects are seeing their stock rise. Few are seeing their stock rise as fast as DJ Hogg, a smooth, skilled and crafty forward from Plano (Tex.) West.

He was originally known as a big-time shooter but now he's doing a lot more than just stroking shots from the perimeter. He's evolving into a nationally elite guy with size, the ability to score from all levels and a very complete basketball player.

"I'm 6-7 and most people call me a shooter," said Hogg. " But I can get to the rim and I have a good post game. I'm improving my defense too. That's a focus for me."

The attention has been steady for the Dallas-area prep star, who is a member of the Texas Titans AAU program. He has offers and interest rolling in from schools in his area, as well as national ones.

"I have offers from Arizona, Baylor, UCLA, Texas, Oregon, SMU, TCU, Houston, Iowa, Kansas State, Notre Dame, Creighton, Texas A&M, Vanderbilt and Missouri," he said.

And interest is picking up from several other schools such as UNC, Duke, Florida, Kansas, Ohio State, Oklahoma State and Alabama.

He elaborated to TarHeelIllustrated on the developments between himself and the staff in Chapel Hill.

" No visits lined up or anything. Just mainly me and Coach Hubert (Davis) texting. I think he called me that first day and it was just to say that they're interested in me and that they're going to start recruiting me. "

" I like UNC a lot. They're a top program and they have a good school. I like them a lot,"

Eric Bossi of is a big fan of Hogg and has seen him recently.

" Well known for his ability to shoot from deep, Hogg hasn't just been getting stronger. He is a much more accomplished ball handler and complete player on both ends of the floor. He has taken his game up a few notches and he looks primed for a huge junior season. "

"He's certainly been in the gym putting in work," added the national analyst.
