Hockaday getting comfortable at Iowa

The Iowa coaching staff has been recruiting Class of 2015 outside linebacker Jack Hockaday pretty heavily ever since offering at camp last summer and had him back on campus this weekend for their junior day. We caught up with the 6-foot-0, 199-pound Hockaday to get his thoughts on the visit, where the Hawkeyes currently stand in his recruiting, and much more.

Q: Can you talk about the junior day at Iowa today?

HOCKADAY: Well, we got there and I got to meet with the coaches again and we had lunch. We also had a position meeting with Coach Woods, so I got to spend some more time with him, and I also got to talk to Coach Ferentz again. It was a good day.

Q: Talking with Coach Woods, what have you learned about that outside linebacker role if you were to go there?

HOCKADAY: That person has to be a dynamic athlete because they have to be able to cover people, but they also have to be able rush the quarterback and make plays in the run game too.

Q: What is your relationship like with the Iowa staff now going back to when they offered last summer?

HOCKADAY: I feel like I have a great relationship with a lot of the coaches. I've spent a lot of time with them and I really like them.

Q: What are your overall thoughts on Iowa just leaving there today?

HOCKADAY: Just good things. First, the coaches seem like great guys. They seem like they're honest and they're real, so I really like the coaches. Everybody that goes there thinks the same thing and they have a good experience there, so I really like it.
