In-state OL talks Iowa junior day

In-state offensive lineman Brett Waechter from HMS was among the Class of 2015 visitors at Iowa's junior day on Saturday. For the 6-foot-6, 250-pound junior, it was a good opportunity to get to know the coaches better and learn more about the recruiting process. We caught up with Waechter to get his thoughts on the visit and much more.

Q: How did the junior day at Iowa go?

WAECHTER: It was fun. I got to talk to the coaches a lot.

Q: What did you do while you were on campus?

WAECHTER: They took us around their facilities. Coach talked for a while and then we had position meetings. We talked to Coach Ferentz afterwards. He talked to me and my family.

Q: How was the meeting with Coach Ferentz?

WAECHTER: It was interesting and was kind of intimidating. Coach said that he is really interested in me.

Q: Did they say anything else recruiting wise?

WAECHTER: Coach Brian Ferentz said he really, really liked me and that he hopes I come down for camp. He thinks I'll be a good tackle.
