CB commit places premium on studies & hard hitting

If there were two words to describe Army commit Steve Allen from Trotwood, Ohio, Madison, it would be "dedicated & determination. "He is the first one in and the last one out of the weight room," shares Trotwood head coach, Douglas.

The 5 foot-11, 170-pound cornerback's attributes are not confined to the weight room, however. They are also reflected in his focus on his class work and having a heart for his community. "I admire Steve's dedication … in his sophomore year he broke his elbow, then in April of the same year while preparing for a combine, he tore his ACL & MCL. But he worked hard and bounced back with a good showing at the Nike Camp held at the University of Michigan," says Douglas.

How would Coach Douglas describe Allen's style of play at corner? "Steve is a very good tackler and will lay the hat on you in a second," declares Douglas. If anyone knows about hard hitting, it's the Allen family. Steve's middle brother (Chris) plays strong safety at Ball State and his older brother (Will) started at safety for the 20003 National Champion Ohio State Buckeyes and now is a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
