Lyons, six more prospects visit WVU Junior Day

MORGANTOWN--Maybe 50 or so fans, coaches and visitors took in Saturday's third scrimmage of the spring--at least seven of them looked like they could suit up right now and play.


The seven on the sidelines of the Indoor Practice Facility included signed wide receiver Wesley Lyons of Pittsburgh Woodland Hills and six 2007 prospects, all of whom were invited here by the WVU coaching staff.


At least two offensive linemen and one each defensive lineman, slot receiver, cornerback and outside linebacker were on hand for the approximate 1 hour, 35 minute scrimmage.


Although his father, Steve Sr., said running back-outside linebacker Steve Paskorz of Pittsburgh Hampton is up to eight scholarship offers, this is the first time Dad and his two sons had actually seen football this spring.


WVU, Penn State, Virginia and Pitt are high on the list for Paskorz Jr. (6-1, 210), and already he has unofficially visited several of those schools and others.


Interestingly, Parskorz's father, who is friendly with the family of Mountaineer defensive lineman Doug Slavonic, said Steve could grow to be 250 pounds with the right maintenance.
