Bell likes what K-State offers
Olathe (Kan.) East running back Demetrius Bell received his first scholarship offer earlier this spring when Ron Prince's Kansas State Wildcats informed him they would like him to play for them. The 5-foot-9, 165-pound Bell has been to Manhattan already to check out the program and likes what he has seen.
"I was up at K-State Saturday for their practice," Bell said. "It was a lot of fun. The coaches have a lot of energy for the program and the team shows they are picking that up too."
The Wildcats are the only team that has offered, but three other schools have been staying in touch.
"Kansas State is the only one that has offered," he said. "I'm talking to Vanderbilt and Northwestern too quite a bit. They are sending me stuff all the time, including handwritten letters. Colorado State is sending me stuff too. I talked to Coach (Dave) Arnold from there about the CSU program."
Bell is hoping to have a decision before his senior year begins.
"I want to make an early decision. Sometime early this summer, I'll probably make my commitment. I am leaning heavily to K-State and I like it up there quite a bit."
