Practice re-cap--Day 5
The Beavers have completed one-third of their 15-day spring practice schedule and appear to be making strides, if nowhere else then in the emotion department, which were under check today. Although the weather threw them a mixed bag, the coaches made the decision to practice outside on the grass of Prothro.
The defensive line was one area that many questioned going into spring, and although work is still in order, Coach Seumalo looks to have the players attention and is rolling up his sleeves to get the job done. Naymon Frank has moved back to the defensive side of the ball to the tackle position. It is obvious that he worked hard during winter conditioning and should give the Beavers added depth on the line. Look for another addition to the line, Dorian Smith, the highly touted junior college defensive end has also arrived in Corvallis, and should be on the field Wednesday.
The linebackers continued to work hard today and it is great to see Coach Newhouse coaching there once again. He looks comfortable and is constantly the voice heard barking encouragement to his players.
