Rivals100 RB takes trip down South

Indianapolis Warren Central running back Darren Evans begins the recruiting season as one of the top 100 prospects in the country and is looking everywhere. That quest resulted in a recent trip into the Deep South looking at several schools, including Mississippi State. Part of that reason was a family tie, but the trip revealed things he really liked.

"It was pretty good," commented the 6-foot-0, 208-pound prospect with a 4.6-second 40-yard dash time. "I liked what I saw. I liked the coaches…I really liked the coaches.

"I think we formed a little bond between us the couple of times I talked to them on the phone and they text messaged me and stuff. They are real down-to-earth people and I like that."

While he really liked what he saw, he is nowhere near making a decision at this point and is just waiting to see what happens across the country.

"I am sort of waiting for some of the west coast teams," he said. "Maybe if they start to contact me or other southern teams I might take one (official visit) there just to take a look at them. I am not ruling anyone out."
