VA Star Athlete Attracts Terps
Kris Burd is a well regarded talent that can play multiple positions at the college level. Under the recruitment of Coach Tom Brattan, Maryland is making inroads with the Matoaca High School star.
"You can say I'm kinda a difference maker on the field," says Burd. "I have a knack for going up at the highest point on a pass route and pulling in a tough catch. I have good speed. My speed helps me to separate from defenders.
"My coaches used me at safety and at split receiver last year. I haven't had a chance yet to talk to my coaches about the season coming up but I'm sure I'll be used at wide receiver again."
The 6-1, 180-pound athlete caught 44 catches for 853 yards and six touchdowns. He runs a 4.5 40 and bench presses 235 pounds. He also plays baseball and basketball.
