Sooners take big interest in Elliott

Each year it seems that Oklahoma extends it's recruiting boundaries a farther and farther from it's known territories of Oklahoma and Texas. And in the case of East Meadow, N.Y. offensive tackle John Elliott it would be nearly impossible to get much further away without an extensive flight for hula competitions or fish and chips.

The 6-foot-4, 285-pound lineman has been enjoying an exciting spring, picking up offers from Florida State, Michigan, Maryland, North Carolina, West Virginia, Virginia, Boston College, and Clemson among others. His most recent offer was one that he really had not expected.

"I had been getting a lot of mail from (Oklahoma) recently, and the all of the sudden it really increased and then they sent an offer," Elliott explained.
