Prospect, Trickett share mutual admiration
Giant offensive lineman Richard Muldrow likes West Virginia's football program, but more importantly, WVU assistant coach Rick Trickett returns the favor.
This is important because there have been a few decorated prospects in the past that the Marine Corps veteran has turned down because he was unsure if they could take his teaching regimen.
Trickett is regarded by athletes, high school coaches and college colleagues as among the best at what he does in the country. When there is a match between Trick and the player, you have a good prospect.
Such is Muldrow (6-foot-8, 293), already WVU All-American lineman Garin Justice's size.
In a state loaded with first-class D-IA lineman in this recruiting cycle, the York (Pa.) William Penn two-way tackle is among the best. He was an honorable mention Quad-A All-State OL as a junior. In 2005, Penn coach Matt Ortega had two 1,000-yard rushers who ran behind Muldrow, who has already received a WVU offer, and sleeper prospect Greg Hoskins.
