No offer? No problem for these three

In addition to the 41,000 fans that Notre Dame drew to its annual Blue-Gold Game, the Irish also hosted several of the top prospects in the country. Jimmy Clausen's commitment stole the show, but the Irish also made an impression on Miles Stroter, Steve Paskorz and Robert Hughes. None of the three left with a Notre Dame offer, but the Irish put themselves in a favorable position with each of the national recruits.

Stroter, a 6-foot-5, 329-pound offensive tackle from Chicago, Ill., was impressed and overwhelmed by the fan support for Notre Dame. He also enjoyed seeing some former Notre Dame players.

Hughes, another Chicago-area player, was also impressed by the fan support.

The 6-foot, 220-pound running back was most impressed by the star-studded lineup of visiting recruits hosted by the Irish.

Despite hobbling around campus on crutches Pittsburgh, Pa., linebacker prospect Steve Paskorz enjoyed the trip.

Paskorz has been recruited as an athlete, with many schools focusing on him playing an H-back role. But Notre Dame is very interested in him at linebacker.
