They're still coming after McCray

Spring has sprung and that means that is out and about checking out the local football prospects. Up first on our list on Monday was Jacksonville (Fla.) Andrew Jackson defensive lineman D'Angelo McCray.

Jackson head football coach Kevin Sullivan has seen McCray do some great things and expects to see more.

"Out of all of our kids he's the leader, the high profile kid," said Sullivan. "He works hard not only on the field, but in the weight room. I'm looking for him to do great things. He's a big part of what do running the football and then he jumps over and plays defense. It's going to be exciting to see him develop and keep getting better his senior year."

The 6-foot-5, 280-pound Rivals100 member was being recruited by some of the top programs in the nation. When he made an early April commitment to the University of Florida back in April, it caused some to back away - while others simply intensified their efforts said Sullivan.

"Some of the schools like Nebraska, the schools that are real far away have been scared off, but he's still hearing from pretty much everyone around here. They haven't given up on him."
