New York lineman dealing with impossible choice
For East Meadow, New York (East Meadow High School) offensive lineman John Elliott the early part of the recruiting process has been simply unbelievable as offers have poured in from everywhere. Elliott has offers from the Big East, the ACC, the Big 12, and the SEC just to name a few.
"I am definitely surprised by all of this," Elliott said. "Everytime a new school offers I am just blown away. I never knew it would be like this."
The 6-foot-4, 282 pound tackle admits that he is thought he was a pretty good player, but nothing like this.
"It has just spiraled more and more," Elliott said. "I thought I was an alright player, but I didn't know what it took to be a division one player. I did ok as a freshman then I started getting offers as a sophomore and I knew I had so much work to do."
And the rewards of that work have created Elliott with a new challenge and that is managing the recruiting process.
Right now, Elliott is just trying to come to grips with making what he calls an impossible decision.
"That is a good way to put it," Elliott said. "Every school that has offered me is a good school. I never thought having to many offers would make things harder, but it is. Making a decision on a college just seems impossible right now."
