Tarpinian ready to get defensive
One of the earliest commitments in Iowa's 2006 recruiting class was Omaha Millard North athlete Jeff Tarpinian.
As a senior, the 6-foot-2, 195-pound Tarpinian rushed for 2,082 yards, as he led Millard North to a Nebraska Class A state championship.
His future lies on the defensive side of the ball, however, which is where he will line up when Iowa opens camp in August. Tarpinian will start his college career for the Hawkeyes as a free safety, which is a position he has already begun to work on this off-season.
