Tigers, Gamecocks visit North Carolina tackle

On Thursday, both Clemson and South Carolina had assistant coaches in Taylorsville, N.C., to see Alexander Central High defensive tackle Kyle Linney.


"Coach (Fred) Chatham at South Carolina was up and he invited me to their camp. I think he's going to offer a scholarship," Linney said. "They have started to show more interest in me, and I know they're recruiting defensive tackles this year."


"Coach (Billy) Napier from Clemson was in today, too, and he told my coach they were probably going to offer soon. Coach Napier is probably my favorite recruiter. They have recruited me the hardest, and I just like the way he carries himself. He's cool about everything, and he makes me feel relaxed about the situation. We just talk about playing football and having a good time."
