NorCal campus is D-I hot spot

It is readily apparent that Matt Summers-Gavin (6-5, 271, 5.1) from San Francisco (Calif.) St. Ignatius College Prep in one of the west coast's best offensive tackle prospects. He six offers from schools on the table and interest from schools from coast-to-coast.

"Last Monday (May 8th), Cal, USC, Nebraska, UNLV, and Utah came by the school," Summers-Gavin said. "Oklahoma came last Friday (May 5th)."

"Colorado came by yesterday," Summers-Gavin said. "Then I received a call from Colorado and they offered me a scholarship."

"I now have six offers along with Nebraska, Georgia, Cal, Arizona State, and Washington," Summers-Gavin said. "I don't think I'll be attending the combine this Saturday. I'll most likely be pretty late to the event because of a track meet."

As a junior Summers-Gavin earned first-team all-league honors. He was one, of only two underclassmen honored. He also was an all-city selection. He was a participant in the US Army All-American National Combine in San Antonio recently and it was there that he measured 6-foot-4 and half. He also recorded a 4.5 shuttle and had a 26-inch vertical. He has recorded 22 reps of 185 pounds on the bench and a 435-pound squat.
