California WR talks about Kentucky trip
Matched in a potential recruiting battle between his new school and old program, Kentucky coach Rich Brooks dipped into his dry wit during a recent unofficial visit from a rising senior prospect.
"Coach Brooks knew I was looking at Oregon, too," said Westlake Village, Calif., Oaks Christian wide receiver Sean Wiser, "so he was joking around with me and said to make sure I look up at the stadium and see whose name is on it."
Brooks spent 18 years at Oregon, building the Ducks' program from the ground up and turning it into one of the best in the country. As a result, the playing surface at Autzen Stadium is named after UK's fourth-year coach.
"I know he's got a real good reputation," Wiser said of Brooks. "He did a great job at Oregon, and now he's trying to do the same thing at Kentucky."
