Lewis: Made to be a Mountaineer

This man was made to be a Mountaineer. The son of a WVU basketball player of the late '70s, a young friend of the Matriarch of the Mountaineer roundball sport, a polished All-State defensive end at Morgantown High, and mentored by former West Virginia defensive back Willie Edwards (1985-88), if you put a coonskin camp and buckskins on him, you would have Mr. Gold and Blue.

But rather than posing as the 2007 Mountaineer Mascot, Junius Lewis III hopes to take his rightful place with his father Junius Jr., as a WVU legacy.

Lewis, a 6-3, 270-pound rising senior at SSAC Class 3A defending state champ Morgantown, delivered a long awaited commitment to WVU head coach Rich Rodriguez and lead recruiter Tony Gibson Wednesday afternoon.
