Local standout talks about record SPARQ rating

To say that Scottsdale, Ariz., Saguaro wide receiver/defensive back Shane Anderson is one of the top pure high school football athletes in the country is not an exaggeration.


He recently shattered the previous SPARQ national record at the Stanford Nike Combine with an almost unimaginable rating of 128.84.


ASUDevils.com spoke with Anderson about his achievement, and what is going on with his recruitment.


Last year at the same Palo Alto stop on the national combine circuit, Oregon State-recruit Tom Hansen established a then-best ever SPARQ rating of 112.53. Six months ago, Anderson set a goal of breaking that mark, and geared his intense workout regimen, under the direction of top local trainer Alex Semenik, entirely toward that aim.
