WVU may be a 'Top 3' favorite for Elliott
The votes have yet to be tallied by talented East Meadow (N.Y.) High School offensive tackle John Elliott, but it appears that West Virginia will get at least one.
Elliott, a 6-foot-4, 282 pounder with 5.2-speed, a 340-pound max bench and a 475-best squat, has retained 23 written offers since WVU recruiting coordinator Herb Hand kicked them off through East Meadow coach Vince Mascia in May of 2005. Elliot will reduce that list to seven at the most within the next week, then almost halve it by the time the current season rolls around. He could take perhaps three official visits in the fall before deciding on where he will play in 2007.
Though he has been offered by schools like WVU, Michigan, Florida and Florida State, the recruiting headlines have yet to get to his head.
