Umodu weeks away from UCLA

Four years from now, Tobi Umodu hopes UCLA fans associate his name with one major accomplishment - a championship. The 6-0, 230-pound linebacker will be starting the next stage of his life and next stage of his college football career in just a few weeks and he has some goals set for the time spent in Westwood.


"I would love to bring a championship to UCLA. Just to be a part of that would be cool," said Umodu. " And if it all works out, I'd love to play professional football."


After the off-season Umodu has had, a summer of classes and football workouts may be a break in intensity. A basketball player and track participant at West Covina's South Hills High, Umodu has just started his full intensity football workouts in preparation for the fall. Whether he comes in and plays right off the bat or redshirts this fall, he sees benefits in both situations.
