Art Evans: 'Little Deion' studies like a scholar

In a county that boasts arguably the nation's best 2007 high-school football team, Art Evans from tiny Victory Christian Academy just may be the best athlete.

Evans (6-foot, 175), who plays for a church school with 25 members on its football team and some 130 students on its rolls, has Deion Sanders potential and Duke grades, according to his coach, Dedrick Dodge.

Dodge, who has played for a veritable Who's Who of college and NFL coaches, calls his wide receiver-defensive back, "the best athlete in Polk County." It is a jurisdiction which features 5A Lakeland High, the 2005 mythical national champion.

WVU is one of some 11 schools, from Duke to Ohio State and Tennessee, who have made pledges to the fully qualified two-way player.
