Illinois LB has interest in Pitt

While the Pitt football team could be sporting the Big East's premier linebacker corps this fall, the Panthers still need to keep looking for reloading options. Dave Wannstedt and company have a trio of fine linebackers coming in with the class of 2006, as Nate Nix, Greg Webster, and Dan Loheyde are all on their way to Pitt, but the coaching staff knows that it can't rest on the laurels of one recruiting class.

As such, they've already extended scholarship offers to a number of linebacker prospects in the class of 2007. One such recruit is Catholic (Joliet, Il.) linebacker Kevin Rouse. Rouse spoke with the Pantherlair recently about his recruitment.

Rouse, 6-1, 225 pounds, currently holds 17 scholarship offers. In addition to Pittsburgh, he also has offers from Iowa, Iowa State, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Purdue, Missouri, and Northwestern, among others.
