Illinois standout grabs Duke offer

Duke fans are well aware of the Chicago area when it comes to basketball recruiting. Coach K has had very good success recruiting in and around the Windy City.

Duke football is also hot on the recruiting trail in Chicago for the class of 2007. The Blue Devils are heavily targeting 6-foot-7, 238 pound defensive lineman Matt Conrath, who after being offered by Duke now holds three official offers.

Stanford and Vanderbilt are the other two schools to jump in with early offers for the Chicago St. Rita product. Conrath could project on either side of the ball in college.

"I think Vandy is recruiting me as an offensive lineman," Conrath said. "Duke, I haven't called the coach yet. They sent me an offer in the mail that kind of came out of nowhere so I will have to talk to my recruiting coach...I got a handwritten letter from the defensive line coach a couple of days ago, so Duke may be recruiting me for defense."
