Woodard has three offers

It is always nice to see a high school athlete earn a scholarship offer. It is even more gratifying when that player comes from a small school, or one that isn't usually associated with college level athletes.

That is why football fans across the state are following the recruitment of Pompton Lakes wide receiver O.J. Woodard. Although a Group 1 power, Pompton Lakes barely registers on the national recruiting radar. But the tiny Passaic County school has been a hot destination for college recruiters this spring, as Woodard stakes his claim as one of the hottest recruits in northeast Jersey. With several scholarship offers already in-hand, Woodard promises to make tickets a hot commodity this fall - for fans and college recruiters alike.

The first three schools to come forward with offers were Purdue, Syracuse and Central Michigan. Other schools showing interest in the state's #25 prospect include UConn, Virginia, Minnesota, and Rutgers.
