Lemmens plans on doing it differently

Although he missed making the initial Rivals250, Westlake Village, Calif., Oaks Christian defensive end Duke Lemmens has an offer list every bit as impressive as many of those who were included. The 6-foot-5, 231-pound prospect, who has seen a couple of his highly rated teammates make commitments already, isn't quite ready to follow their lead.

Jimmy Clausen (Notre Dame) and Marc Tyler (Southern Cal) may have gone ahead and made their pledges, Lemmens, however, plans on going about it differently.

"Unlike them, I'm not going to follow the trend of committing early. I'm going to wait until the middle or maybe the end of my season. I'm still going to take a lot more unofficial visits this summer. I'm going to Florida again and Miami. I've got Colorado coming up and the University of Oregon and Washington on the same trip. I want to go to Cal-Berkley and my parents want me to look into Duke because of the academics there."
