2006 Look Ahead: Marshall Thundering Herd
OPPONENT 3: MARSHALL THUNDERING HERD
Sept. 16 @Bill Snyder Family Stadium, 11:30 a.m. kickoff
Returning Starters: 21 (10 offense, 9 defense, kicker, punter)
2005 Record: 4-7
Coach: Mark Snyder
Marshall player to Watch: Running back Ahmad Bradshaw (5-11, 190 Jr.)
The Herd has plenty of talent at the skill positions, most notably Bradshaw, who ran for 997 yards as a sophomore last season. Expect Snyder and his staff to again build their offensive around the elusive and speedy Bradshaw, a back also capable of making big plays in the passing game. Bradshaw caught 56 passes last season.
Wildcat to Watch: Safety Marcus Watts
Watts may have been the difference in K-State's win at Marshall last season, as he forced a pair of fumbles on drives in which the Herd had driven deep into Wildcat territory. K-State won't play Marshall until the third game of the season, meaning Watts should be fully recovered from the gruesome hip injury he suffered against Missouri and in true game shape by time the Herd rolls into Bill Snyder Family Stadium.
