Is Auburn establishing a Lincoln High pipeline?
When Auburn landed a commitment from Tallahassee, Fla., Lincoln linebacker Craig Stevens in late January, and his signature a few days later, the Tigers got more than just the No. 18-ranked linemacker in the nation in the 2006 class.
They got their foot in the door at one of the best NFL-producing high schools in the country.
Since Stevens signed with Auburn, the Tigers have gone right back to the Tallahassee talent pool trying to add to that total. And in 2007, they're already off to a good start.
Auburn has already secured a commitment from defensive back Mike Slade and they aren't stopping there. The Tigers are also heavily pursuing a few more including four-star d-tackle Tim Lamb, his brother and linebacker Xavier Lamb, and defensive back Deshaun Barnes among others.
