First camp commitment is in
Michigan's Summer Football Camp concludes tomorrow and while there have been many big names at camp, including Orchard Lake St. Mary's standouts Dionte Allen and Taurian Washington, no one had committed to U-M. That changed today when an instate sleeper offered his verbal commitment to the Wolverines.
Madison Heights (Mich.) Lamphere 6-foot-2, 165-pound wide receiver James Rogers gave his verbal to the Michigan coaches after receiving a recent offer. He won the Smokehouse Award (fastest camper) going away this week and impressed the U-M brass with his physical skills, attitude and hands. Heading into the summer camp, Rogers held offers from Central Michigan and Colorado. He played running back as a junior for Lamphere and earned first team all-conference accolades after rushing for for over 1,000 yards.
TheWolverine.com will have more on Rogers, including comments and accurate size descriptions in the next few hours/days.
