Rogers experiencing dream come true
The Michigan summer camp is often a time when unknown recruits have the opportunity to prove themselves and earn scholarship offers. That is exactly what happened on Wednesday, when Madison Heights (Mich.) Lamphere athlete James Rogers received an official invitation to join the Wolverines. It didn't take long for him to reach a decision.
Standing in at 6-2, 175 pounds, Rogers was among the top performers in the morning passing drills at the camp on Tuesday. While he will need to gain some more weight to play at the collegiate level, he is a smooth runner, and showed excellent speed, quickness and leaping ability. In fact, in the Smokehouse races held on Wednesday, he was easily the fastest of the wide receivers, winning by a wide margin.
Rogers had offers from Colorado, Bowling Green, Central Michigan, and Ball State, with others expressing interest.
