Summers-Gavin plays waiting game
Notre Dame has yet to receive a verbal commitment on the offensive line but the Irish have several scholarship offers out and interest in even more players including Matt Summers-Gavin of San Francisco.
"Last week I talked to (coach Brian Polian)," Summers-Gavin said. "He just said things are looking the same. They are wrapping up their camps and stuff but I'm looking good for them. They are taking their time and they can because I'm taking my time. I'm getting text messages and letters a lot. It seems like they are really interested but they just haven't put their offer out yet."
The Irish did give Summers-Gavin a timeline for when he can expect a decision.
"They said at the latest it would be August that they would offer," he said. "It seems like they are definitely going to offer but the latest it would be is in August. They said that I was in the same position that a kid named (Eric Olsen) was in last year. They said I'm passed through the school so they said that's really good."
