A couple colleges still chasing Van Dyke

Miami Pace athlete DeMarcus Van Dyke went back and forth between Florida and Miami before finally publicly committing to the Hurricanes at the beginning of June.

Since that commitment, things have quieted down greatly. Other than Miami, only two programs are staying in constant contact and one of the two will get an unofficial visit later this month.

After going public with the commitment, it's been an uneventful month on the recruiting front for Van Dyke, who decided against camping anywhere, but did visit the Hurricanes for an unofficial visit.

I didn't do much of anything but watch and talk to the coaches. They told me they were happy to have me and they expect me to be a great one for them."

Immediately after running a 4.3 forty at the Maimi NIKE Camp, the 6-foot, 161-pound speedster was seeing offers come in right and left before he made his commitment. While that has slowed and many who were recruiting him have backed off, two colleges are still charging ahead and for that it looks as if they will be rewarded.
