Southpaw was main attraction
Southpaw quarterback Craig Rasmussen (6-2, 185, 4.67) from San Diego (Calif.) Hilltop received a lot of attention this past spring.
"We had 26 division one schools come through our school to see Craig in the spring," Hilltop coach Andy Diaz said. "Six of the 26 schools seem to be very interested in him. They are Washington State, Colorado State, UNLV, Fresno State, Oregon, San Diego State. Craig needs to decide which five he will take official visits to in the fall."
"We start our summer passing leagues soon, and Craig is looking smooth as ever," Diaz said. "He just attended the Elite 11 camp at UNLV and did a solid job there and he will also be attending the Colorado State Camp in the end of July."
There is a good reason why Rasmussen is garnering all this attention. He earned League Offensive Player of the Year after throwing for 2,365 yards and 19 touchdowns as a junior. He can also get the job with his feet as he rushed for 300 yards and scored two rushing touchdowns in 2005.
