Rogers' offer didn't surprise coach

Madison Heights (Mich.) Lamphere head coach Jason Charron had an inkling something was brewing with standout athlete James Rogers' recruitment before the 6-2, 185-pounder even made it to his first summer camp.

Colorado coaches called with an offer before they even saw him play, based on what they saw on film, but a long run in the state baseball playoffs prevented planned trips to a number of one-day camps.

Turned out Michigan was his one and only necessary trip, since Rogers performed so well at the camp the U-M coaches changed their own plans and offered him on the spot.
