Georgia's Heyward Eyeing Two Sports
For a lot of prospects, deciding which position, or which side of the ball they want to play on is a big aspect of the recruiting process. For Georgia's talented Cameron Hayward though, it's a deeper dilemma that revolves around which sport he'll play in college, or in fact if he'll try his hand at a couple. Playing both basketball and football would be his preference, and Tennessee is one of several schools ready to give him a crack at it.
Heyward (6-foot-5, 264 pounds, 5.1 40-yard dash), from Suwanee, Ga., is a player that has caught plenty of college coach's eye as an athletic defensive tackle, but he's also turned more than a few heads as a bruising inside presence on the basketball court.
His meal-ticket to college athletics is most certainly football, but he's shown enough ability no the hardwood, that some programs are telling him that that they'll indulge his wish to try his hands at both sports on the next level. Count Tennessee as being among those schools who are willing to give Heyward a shot at pulling off this difficult tandem.
