DeChristopher ends up a Hokie
Virginia Tech pulled in commitment No. 3 yesterday when Midlothian, Va., Clover Hill offensive tackle Blake DeChristopher visited Blacksburg and made a verbal pledge to the Hokies. The 6-foot-6, 300-pounder selected Virginia Tech over offers from Ohio State, Maryland, Virginia and North Carolina State amongst others.
"We were there yesterday and he committed to the entire staff," his father, Robert DeChristopher said. "I think he selected Virginia Tech just because he was comfortable with the coaches and players.
"He obviously liked Frank Beamer a lot and of course his recruiter Jim Cavanaugh. He also likes offensive line coach Curt Newsome a lot too. When we visited he got to talk to a lot of the players on the team. He knew John Graves before and spent some more time with him there and was able to meet about 80% of the other players on the team and had a good time with them."
