Oglesby has great trip to Blacksburg
Holding two offers from North Carolina State and East Carolina, Garner, N.C., running back Josh Oglesby headed to Blacksburg last weekend in hopes of earning an offer from the Hokies. The 5-foot-11, 205-pounder had a tremendous weekend by doing just that and now is hoping to make a decision in the near future.
"It was a great trip," he stated. "It only took us about two hours to get there. When I arrived I met Billy Hite and my recruiter coach O'Cain. Once I talked to them for a bit, they measured me and had me do a mini-combine. I ran a 4.3-second shuttle and a 4.4-second 40-yard dash. Then I participated in a series of drills with coach Hite emphasizing getting extra yardage which is right down my alley. I also participated in some defensive drills because everyone had to. After all that, I did one-on-ones and then coach O'Cain pulled me aside and told me he wanted to talk.
"At that time, he told me that they have a scholarship for me. My dad, mom and I then talked to Frank Beamer who officially offered. I was thrilled to get it. I didn't think I would get an offer from a team like them this early especially since I played out of position last year, but they saw me in person and like and respect what I can do. Coach Hite particularly told me that he liked the fact I have speed and size. He also said my film shows I have good hands and I run hard."
