Catching up with the Beavers latest commit
After a long and winding road, one of the top offensive line prospects from the state of Oregon in 2003 will make his way back home in 2007. Los Altos Hills, Calif., Foothill College offensive tackle Michael Cole confirmed his commitment on Sunday and cannot wait to join the Beavers next season.
"I gave them a verbal on Thursday," Cole said. "I called Coach Riley and he was busy at the time. He called me later in the day and I told him I was committing to Oregon State. I am really excited. I have been talking to the o-line coach in recent weeks and I am really excited about joining the Beavers."
Cole is 6-foot-7, 290 pounds and will be able to transfer in December with two years remaining eligibility. He graduated from Lake Oswego High School in 2003 and quickly enrolled at Hargrave Military Academy in Chatham, Virginia. After attending Hargrave for one year, Cole then went to Portland State on scholarship where he redshirted in 2004. After letting his grades slip, he was forced to go the JUCO route where he hooked up at Foothill College where he played as a redshirt freshman in 2005.
