Hokies lead for Tribbey after visit
Going into his visit to Virginia Tech last weekend, Richmond, Va., Varina defensive tackle Bud Tribbey didn't think an offer by the Hokies would come this early. The 6-foot-0, 280-pounder proved himself wrong by leaving Blacksburg with a scholarship in hand.
"It was a great visit actually," he said. "I did my 40, a shuttle run, vertical and some agility drills. In the 40-yard dash, I ran it in 5-seconds flat and felt pretty good. After that, coach Cav was straight with me by saying he had an offer. Then I went and met with coach Beamer who confirmed it."
Tribbey was thrilled to receive the offer.
"I think it's great," he said. "I was considering them a whole lot and going to camp really worked out. I didn't think I'd get an offer that early in the process from them, but it worked out for the best and I'd say they are probably my No. 1 school right now."
