Dunn leaves lasting impression
Baylor commitment LaceDarius Dunn entered last week's Adidas Superstar Camp as the nation's No. 27 ranked player and the No. 5 ranked shooting guard in the country.
The Monroe (La.) Excelsior Christian guard showed why he was so highly regarded making quite an impression on those in attendance.
In my eyes he was one of the five best players in the camp," said Tom Kakert, publisher of Hawkeye Report on the Rivals.com Network, who was at the camp Thursday and Friday. "He was really a dominant scorer, handled the ball very well, good off the dribble, rebounded really well. He just does everything well. He's really smooth and active at both ends of the floor. Coach Drew was there for all the time that I was there, so I know he had to be impressed as well with what he is getting."
Looking back on the camp one game in particular stood out to Kakert. In the game Dunn matched up with another one of the nation's best, and proved he was worthy of a top ranking.
"There was one game that I really kind of enjoyed this game; because, it had (Michael) Beasley's team, and he's got Nolan Smith on his team, who's going to Duke, and he matched up with Dunn quite a bit," Kakert said. "It was a good test, and it showed me that Dunn's right there."
