Winters cooling on KU?

There was a time when KU was widely considered the team to beat for Collier Winters. The Hawks were the first to offer the 6-foot-0, 185-pound dual-threat quarterback from Booker T. Washington High School in Tulsa, Okla. Since that time, Winters has received scholarship offers from three scholarship offers from Division I programs. Is KU still in the mix for the talented quarterback, or is Winters looking in a different direction.

Shortly thereafter, schools like Iowa, Illinois, New Mexico, SMU, Tulsa, Harvard and Utah State began to recruit the talented dual-threat quarterback. Some schools were hot after Winters, while others wanted to monitor and evaluate his progress throughout the summer.
