Oglesby announces he's a Hokie

In the past month, recruiting has exploded for three-star running back Josh Oglesby out of Garner, N.C. The 5-foot-11, 205-pounder added scholarship offers from North Carolina State, Virginia Tech and North Carolina which has resulted in some uncertainty about where the running back will be going for college, but today Oglesby has announced that he will be taking his services to Virginia Tech.

"I called coach Beamer on Monday and decided to commit to them then actually," he said. "The thing that made me pick Tech is that it's just a great school. I really like the stability of the staff a lot including my position coach Billy Hite. I believe he's the best running backs coach I've dealt with and I know he can develop me into a player. He knows what to teach a running back my size as I am very similar to Brandon Ore and I feel I can be successful in the system too especially once I get through their great strength program.

"I've also looked at the number of winning seasons, bowl games and how much they are on television and the fact they are now in the ACC. One other part I like about them is that they didn't sign any running backs last year, but they did get three big offensive linemen. Overall I think it's the best fit for me."
