Tyus, Gators saw eye-to-eye

Just a few weeks ago, Alex Tyus was preparing for a trip to Ohio State and all but ruled out the Florida Gators. What a difference a few weeks make, or does it?

Following a visit to Gainesville, the 6-foot-8, 210-pound power forward from Cincinnati Harmony Community School, told GatorBait.net that he did not see himself fitting into the Gators' roster, but after his commitment to Florida on July 12, Tyus said he was just protecting his options.

"I didn't want to mess up my situation with other schools," Tyus said. "I didn't want to make it seem like I was interested with them and then other people would think that's where I'm going. The same kind of thing happened to me at Ohio State."

Days before Tyus arrived at Ohio State for an unofficial visit, the Buckeyes landed another top power forward, Evan Turner. At the time, Ohio State was Tyus's favorite, but he started leaning towards the Gators after Turner's announcement.
